Portman are an adventurous young five piece who bring to you their epic debut album "From Here To Your Eyes And Ears". Hailing from Stamford in Lincolnshire the band draw inspiration from melodic bands such as The Appleseed Cast and Braid and have the ability to rip through songs with the same edge and intensity as Moneen. Listen a bit closer though and shades of the movie Serenity can be heard mixed in with the influence of the legendary DC coomics (in particular Ex-Machina and Watchmen), as the atmosphere builds and the passion intensifies. While others are singing of failed romances, Portman are hitting hard and lyrically tackling issues like social revolution and morality yet still maintaining an impressive musical hook. "Overestimating Your Audience" tells of a band that challenges you to break away from the conventional, while "The Great Machine" addresses the struggles that power and responsibility bring. Working under the guidance of producer James K. Sanford (Lost On Campus, Erika Black) the band have produced an album that does more than just satisfies your ears with a quick melody - it takes you on a fantastic journey. The band have recently taken their story on the road with hotly tiped Pop-Punkers Paige and played shows with the catchy Tellison, and will soon tour with new label-mates Atwood as well as A Broken Robot. Portman are set to take off - join the adventure now!
